start out with any picture you would like. this is mine:


next you want to find a nice texture. anyone will do. ( unless you would like to match it with your picture ) here's mine.


now make shure the texture is on the layer above your picture. and set it to darken.

(as you get more advanced you can change it to other ones!)
now your done. add some text, or colourize it a bit more. here's my finished picture:
